Below is the information we actually collect in Al-Jamal, based on our account system and database:
A. Account and Login
- Email address
- Username (optional)
- Display name (optional)
- Unique user ID
- Hashed password (username/password login only — never stored in plain text)
- Sign-in provider: Google, Apple, or username/password
- Last login date
- Hashed session tokens to keep you signed in
B. Profile and Preferences
- Profile photo (only if you upload one)
- Notification preference (on/off)
- Background music preference (on/off)
- Local device settings (e.g. Shared Preferences)
C. Learning Progress
- Word mastery and game-type progress
- Daily challenge state and data
- Path mode level and state
- Scores, achievements, levels, and XP within the App
D. Technical, Security, and Crashes
- Crash reports and diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics)
- Device type, OS version, and app version
- Error data to fix bugs and improve stability
- System audit logs for security and administration
E. What We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect phone numbers for sign-up or login
- We do not currently use Firebase Analytics for general usage tracking
- We do not sell personal information
F. Third-Party Sign-In
When you sign in with Google or Apple, we may receive basic account data (such as email, display name, and account identifier) according to permissions you approve.
How We Use Your Information

- Create and manage your account

- Provide the App and its learning features

Third-Party Services

- Backend server and PostgreSQL database — account, learning progress, and settings
- Hosting provider — secure storage of application data

Paid Subscriptions (if purchased)
If you purchase a subscription through the App Store, Apple processes payment. We do not receive your credit card number. We may receive purchase confirmation, subscription ID, and subscription status to grant paid features.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information only in the following situations:
- With service providers that help us operate the App
- With legal authorities when required by law, regulation, subpoena, or legal process
- To protect the rights, safety, property, users, or security of Kalimo

Children and Minors
